Compliance isn't Design
Most commercial spaces stop at code compliance and call it done.
That's not design. That's just construction.
The spaces people actually return to, the ones they photograph, recommend, and seek out, didn't get there by meeting the minimum.
They got there because someone asked: what will people feel here?
Better seating. A wall worth looking at. A material you want to touch. Small decisions that turn a space into an experience.
For developers: that experience is repeat business. It's the reason one airport lounge is always full and the one next to it is empty.
Code compliance is the floor. Design is everything above it.
If you're building in the DMV and want your space to be the one people come back to, let's talk.
